CHRISTIAN STANGL FINALLY REACHES K2 SUMMITAfter several attempts to reach K2 summit, Mammut athlete Christian Stangl finally reached the top on August 12, 2010, 10 am. The tour basecamp-summit-basecamp took him 70 hours, but Friday morning, August 13, he called his girlfriend from basecamp and informed her to be extremely tired but healthy and happy. Having reached K2 summit, Stangl will head for 4.852m Mt. Tyree, the second highest peak of Antarctic, in December 2010. If successful, he will make history in mountaineering with his project "14 seven summits", being the first one to reach the two highest peaks on all seven continents. | ||
MAMMUT ATHLETE DAVID LAMA ASCENDING TWO HARD ALPINE ROUTESIn a short world cup break the Mammut proteam Athlete David Lama was able to ascent two difficult alpine routes "Bellavista" in the Dolomites and "Voie Petit" in the Grand Capucin nearby Chamonix. David is going to become one of the biggest alpine mountaineers ever. In 2000 and 2001 Alexander Huber did the first free ascent of these huge Roof in the dolomites, called "Bellavista".
